for this chic pied-à-terre project — a two-bedroom apartment in the clouds in fulton market, chicago — PROjECT. was initially only asked to pick out essential furniture. but after we peeped the all white, light + bright box and saw her potential, and shared a vibe deck with all of the nitty-gritty details that could be, we got the green light to get creative with savvy space planning, sensuous finishes, impact lighting, and art curation — the whole shebang.
the vision? a sexy, serene work retreat that doubles as a downtown pad for the kids + grandkids to visit.
emphasizing the city views via design that doesn’t distract was part of the plan [but with wow moments — of course]. check out the bespoke zoom background in the office for this gloss boss’ bigshot meetups, the handpainted pillows with studded trim in the living room, and the bathroom wallcovering that’s inspired by traditional south african motifs.
now this pied-à-terre is purring with abundant earth tones, layered textures [ripped leather mixed with refined boucle, silk + velvet], unexpected moments of color, and reflective moments [i.e. an antiqued mirror headboard + faceted coffee table].
