COLLECTOR’S EDITION
high above the mag mile, around the corner from the museum of contemporary art, this client picked a condo in the heart of it all—and needed some help getting it across the finish line. two contractors and two interior designers later [it happens], PROjECT. got the referral for furniture selection + final polish.
first things first tho: we added some transitions to the interior architecture—a dropped soffit here, an oversized window box there. as for the upholstery and finishes, this homeowner’s radical art collection would steer that ship.
a serious collector of self-taught, outsider art—the hairy who, roger brown + karl wirsum, to name a few—careful consideration had to be paid to coloration and placement of focal points.
in the living room, we leveled up on composition with a custom, two-part sofa, a vintage marble coffee table and a curvaceous rug. for the dining room, things got textural—leather-wrapped chairs, a mobile-style hanging light, a built-in banquette with contrasting straps. for the media room, some PROjECT-designed millwork + a triangular bar would do the trick.
serendipitously, we saw eye to eye on sourcing hand-touched accent pieces with meaningful stories. [cool + collected everything]. now sit back and enjoy the views.
