edit salon
owners patrick and dina lewis
didn’t want to intimidate their
clients. salons can be mean-girls
territory— even those with
reclaimed wood and vintage pieces.
herbie, the loveable bulldog
and unofficial mascot of edit,
is the business’s first friendly
welcome and the space had
to follow his lead—
we kept the colors muted
and soft, focusing all the beauty
in the mirror’s reflection.
shelves crafted of pipefitting,
warm woods and low-lit
overhead lighting intone any
easy, unpretentious vibe.
a wacky art installation
has that unexpected PROjECT
mojo without the diva attitude
(shorthand: cat’s cradle on crack)
