flaunting a first row seat to
belmont harbor, this residential
building is spoiled not only
by the vistas but proximity
to the waterfront—

lincoln park is constantly in
motion with the rush of strollers,
bikers, runners and dogs.

to capture that energy, we
explored literal and abstract
references for the public areas:
the striking round window
suggests a porthole, though elegantly
rendered, and the combo of rich
navy blue and white gloss on the
shelves delves deeper into the
nautical metaphor

(as do the sculptural diving
figures taking a plunge.)

the stone surround in the lobby
balances land against water,
while a mechanical pulley adds
that industrial heft and historical
brawn found only in the
city of big shoulders.
